27/1/09 - RANDOM HAND LAUNCH SHOW!

Hello my lovers

First things first! We're in the demo stages of the new record and all the songs are finished writing-wise. I don't want to give too much away at this stage but its a bit of a concept album (don't worry, we haven't gone prog) and I'm also sure it's going to please our old-school fans as well as those newer to the Boom. But especially the old genre-terrorists. There's also gonna be some gnarly guest-appearences on there. We're going into the studio for the first two weeks of April with Peter Miles once again at the desk so expect to see and hear stuff as and when its ready.

That being said, we have a couple of live dates to throw a couple of new tunes out if we get the urge. First of all is this Thursday 29th January at the Twist in Colchester. Get your tickets HERE. They've created such a beautiful poster for the occasion I will have to share it's glory at the base of this very communication. Fantastic supports on there too.

And, speaking of fantastic supports, we're(!) going to be supporting Rebel Alliance's Random Hand at their album launch show at the Cockpit in Leeds this Sunday the 1st February. We may even play a couple of new tunes. In fact, I think we will. Here's the details...

Sunday February 1st 2009
@ The Cockpit, Leeds
Doors 6.30pm (NOTE: Early doors)
Tickets £6adv.

Tickets available from
www.lunatickets.co.uk www.SeeTickets.co.uk
Crash Records and Jumbo Records

Of course, as you should well know by now(!) we're going to be releasing the new Random Hand album Inhale/Exhale on our very own Rebel Alliance Recordings. Please come over to the site and add yourself to the mailing list because at the moment its a bit lonely on there. Inhale/Exhale has been described by Neil 'Madfish' McMinn 'a classic in our artform' in a car in America. And he is a man to be trusted. You can pre-order the very record HERE.

Well, busy is as busy does. We're off for final rehearsals and demo-ing on Wednesday so I'd better go and finish those lyrics. If you still haven't bought our remix/rarities CD 'Play On' or a wonderful Boom Brains shirt then please go and visit the online store HERE and stick your money where my mouth is. Credit crunch or not, quality is quality. ;)

Your pardner

Barney x

p.s. May I finally add a personal, heartfelt apology to my dear friend Dan Drummond and thank him for his Saint-l. ;)
