Manchester Charity Show! Rock and Respite!! French Show Added!!!

Yep!

Right then! We've decided to come out of our self-imposed writing exile in aid of the good people of Francis House Children's Hospice this coming Sunday 19th September to be part of ROCK AND RESPITE. This all-day show is going to include a whole load of Manchester bands coming together for a good cause including Blind Atlas, Clint Boon (DJ), Exit Calm, Frazer King and Kid British and what's more, it's just a fiver to get in. The Boom will be onstage at 10:10pm (good time for a boogie I say...) and you can check Rock and Respite's website HERE, grab a ticket from HERE and you can keep up to date on Facey B HERE. It'll be good to see you guys so please come along, it's for a great cause.

Over at the SB6 Store, we've still got some copies of The Ruff Guide To Genre-Terrorism limited edition coloured vinyl and a few of Katie Crush's Crushtomized garments so hurry over to the store HERE. Full details are available over at the store so if you missed last week's mailout about these exciting items, head over and see what the fuss is all about!

It's a shame for us to have to announce that the Roots Festival tour of India has had to be postponed due to security issues in certain parts of the country. It's a bummer, but it was always a possibility when planning shows in a place that has very few Western bands come through. Not to worry, we've got a European tour with Less Than Jake to look forward to as well as the UK and German releases of our 'Rude Awakening' compilations before the year is through.

I trust all the mod-minded ska-heads amongst the Boom Army have been enjoying 'This is England 86' over the last couple of weeks. Whilst my inititial reaction was 'it's not as good as the film, which isn't as good as Dead Man's Shoes, which isn't as good as Romeo Brass... and there is no Paddy Considine' last night I realised that there is no UK show in living memory where I want the next episode to roll on quite as quickly. Shane Meadows must be applauded at the very least for saving TV from another reality show. And, on that note, good riddance to Big Brother. ;)

Speak very soon and hopefully see some of you on Sunday!

Barney x
