24/2/10 - APRIL 2010 TOURDATES UP NOW!!!

Well now!

I trust everyone is well! It's been a while but, as ever, we've been busy bees. Big up to everyone who saw us on the Reel Big Fish tour and if you're one of those who are a new recruit to this hallowed mailing list, then welcome. The mainland tour of Europe with RBF was a dream come true and it was great to see and meet so many new fans in Germany, Switzerland and Austria so thanks to Reel Big Fish and their whole team for making the whole thing such a pleasure. Shout outs go to Matt Reynolds, Band Geek Mafia, SkaBucks and, last but certainly not least, Big D and the Kid's Table!

So, we decided that 6 weeks without extensively touring was quite enough not to see your beautiful faces and promptly decided to get straight back out into the UK this April. Joining us on all dates will be KNOCK OUT from Riverside, California whose solid reggae-punk impressed us all massively when we caught them over in the US in December. Check their Myspace out HERE. The London date, with the addition of Mouthwash on the bill, is already selling quick. Hurry, it's going to be a tight squeeze over in the Camden Barfly on the 11th!

There is a Facebook event for the tour HERE which has all the links for tickets and info for each gig so go and add yourself to the event and have a look around.

If you caught us in Europe or on one of the last shows on the Rebel Alliance Tour (replacing Random Hand due to Matt's hand injury - get well soon!) then you'll have seen us with our new guitarist James Routh aka Jimmy T Boom. We first met James when supported by his old band Myth of Unity and we were proper blown away by their mix of rock and electronica, so much so it literally rubbed off on us on the recording of City of Thieves. James was the first person we thought of when Ben C decided to move to pastures new and, lo and behold, two days before the news of Ben's departure went public James actually emailed me to tell us that Myth of Unity were breaking up and he was available to play synths. Never one to deny the fickle finger of synchronicity, we promptly employed the out-of-work musician and got him on guitars, synths and whatever else we want him to play. April is going to be James's first UK tour with the Boom and we're definitely going to be pulling out some new tunes and giving you all a glimpse of the direction the Boom's been heading in behind the closed doors of rehearsal rooms over the last few months. To infinity and beyond!

Rightio! Go and snap up a ticket.

Barney x

p.s. For all you freaks across the globe that have been decrying the lack of vinyl in the Boom's discography, we're going to be releasing a new compilation in April on lovely 12" wax. More news about this very soon.
