Over on the Xtra Mile Recordings YouTube page right now is our new video for 'Let's Push Things Forward'. The promo was recorded live at last year's Portsmouth and (sold-out!) London shows and also features footage from our visit to the studio to record the track. Cheers to Gregory Nolan for all the hard work!
Our version of The Streets' 'Let's Push Things Forward' is a homage to the influence that Mike Skinner had on the band, both from a musical and lyrical standpoint. Unveiled on our last headline album tour, the track was met with an awesome response from the crowds so we took the opportunity to record the song in the studio as a B-Side for our 'Keep On Believing' single. Next on the agenda! The Boom need YOU! With all of the activity going on over the last few months, our hands are very full so we’re looking for some help with it all. We're interested in getting some of our biggest fans involved and are looking to organise some Boom street teams. Basically we’re looking for people to help out in all areas of promotion in terms of releases, merch and tours in return for various goodies and guestlists. This is a vital part of the band's activities and we’re keen to get more of you working with us to keep The Boom moving forward. Finally, as many of you know, on May 1st we are gonna be performing a HEADLINE SHOW in Camden Underworld! We've got a cracking line up featuring The Dead Formats. The Hype Theory, and Alt Track, plus we've got some special guest DJs coming along. Tickets are rolling out and our last London show sold out so please get on this...
And there's another reason to come to the show. The other night I was watching Comic Relief (a bit drunk) and people kept suggesting on my Twitter we cover Dead Brent's ridiculously brilliant reggae song 'Equality Street'. If you haven't heard it yet, check it out HERE. We're all massive fans of Ricky Gervais and The Office, so high on the heady vibes of finally hearing 'Equality Street' after a decade (with no informing the rest of the band!) I promised that we would cover it... providing we can sell enough tickets for the London show at Camden Underworld to fill the place up. We'll do a donation for charity too, to keep it in the Comic Relief spirit. If you want to hear this (ABSOLUTELY) one-off spectacle, go and grab a ticket. Now!
